Buy Live Crayfish
Just received (and cooked) your crawfish this past weekend up in NJ. They were great! We recently moved from lower Alabama and I was worried we would not find a reliable source for live sacks, but yours had less floaters than most of the sacks we purchased down south. We are already planning our next boil and will be using your service again. Thanks!

Just wanted to say thank you so much! Your crawfish is amazing and delicious. My family moved from New Orleans in 2010 and we have still been carrying on our tradition of an Annual (sometimes twice annually) Crawfish boil. For the last 6 years, we have been purchasing from Lacrawfish and have enjoyed them every time. This last order was delivered on Sat. 4/29- which we would eat on Sunday, 4/30. I had to change the date of my original ship date because of a sudden death in the family and I really appreciate your working with us on that and making it very easy. We didn't even open the box to check because I knew that I could count on your product to be a quality product and they were good to go. We wanted to keep them cold and not risk letting in any hot humid air. The seasoning mix you send is also a really great tasting seasoning. We will continue to buy from you, please keep up the amazing work! I wanted to make sure I expressed to you how great your product is and at some point, I need to try something other than crawfish but I LOVE IT! Thank you again
I wanted to post a Testimonial: Last year was the first time I decided to order Live Crawfish to bring with us for our camp out with another family. We live in New York so craw daddies are nowhere to be found. I have to tell you that not only did I impress my husband but the other family has already asked if I would do the same this year! I used your boil pack, added fresh corn on the cob and red potatoes into the pot. Drained and poured everything out on the picnic table and all 8 of us chowed down! I plan on having 3 boils this year and we can't wait. Thank you for excellent service and fantastic crawfish!
Just wanted to let you know we had the best Father's Day weekend ever thanks to your company! The crawfish were at my door in Northern California just 24 hours after we placed our order. It was the best crawfish boil we've had since we moved from Louisiana 24 years ago!! The crawfish were all alive just as you promised. Everyone we've told can't believe we were able to have them delivered straight to our door! Your company is the best! We will be ordering again soon! On that note, please tell me when crawfish season ends! We may have to order sooner than we thought, but that's fine with us. Thanks again!
THe 30lbs of crawfish I received on Saturday were just plain awesome! For this time of year, the size was great and almost every crawfish was alive when I received them. Thanks for taking so much great care in providing live crawfish to those of us up here in the cold Midwest. I think you will also pick up a couple new customers who ate them for the first time at our party.
Our family wanted to send a Thank You to your company for making my wife's birthday in Southern California unforgettable. It has been 2 years since my kids have had crawfish and they were so excited. Amazingly, only 11 crawfish did not live through the journey! We will contact you again soon so that we can share this treat with our friends. Thank you again.
Unfortunately, we are unable to ship live Crawfish without an official permit from the Department of Natural Resources to HAWAII, WASHINGTON, MICHIGAN, ILLINOIS, WISCONSIN, PENNSYLVANIA, MINNESOTA or OREGON.
No. Non-native crayfish may be harvested, possessed and sold commercially pursuant to OAR 635-005-0855 through 635-005-0885 or harvest recreationally pursuant to ORS 496.162 from waters of the State as defined in ORS 503.006. Live non-native crayfish may not be used as bait except in the waterbody in which they were taken, and their gametes, fertilized eggs, or larvae may not be released into waters of the State.
Australian Redclaw Crayfish, also known as Cherax Quadricarinatus, are amazing creatures that can grow to a huge size, nearly the size of a lobster! This is a species with considerable potential for commercial culture. The fact that it can withstand low oxygen levels and thrives in warm waters makes it well-suited to aquaculture and aquarium life as well. The Australian Redclaw Crayfish does best when water temperatures are between 75 and 85 F. They generally reach sexual maturity between six and 12 months of age. With their beautiful coloration, Redclaws are also often selected as pets for tropical aquariums. They are less aggressive than most crayfish, and reproduce rapidly and easily.
These crayfish are excellent escape artists! If your water level is near the top of the tank, if you have rocks and decor large enough for them to reach the surface, or if you have equipment such as airline tubing or heater cords that extend over the side of the tank, they will climb out. To reduce the likelihood of escape, equipment should be suspended overhead so that it does not touch the sides of the tank. If housed in an aquarium, a lid may be required.
Crayfish, crawfish, crawdads, or freshwater lobsters are crustaceans that live in streams, rivers, and ponds. These crayfish can range from 2-5 inches in length depending on what are currently in stock. Assorted crayfish species can include northern virile crayfish or white river crayfish. Crayfish are semi-aggressive animals and do need adequate space and environment before housing with fish or other animals.

Crayfish have long been popular among aquarists as well as fishermen and naturalists alike. But non-native species have taken their toll on native populations. The fight against invasive species has intensified in the waters of the Keystone State. To counteract the effects of invasive crayfish species on the animals living in and around the waterways of Pennsylvania, new regulations have gone into effect starting on January 1st, 2015.
The intent behind the new law is to stop crayfish from one waterway being introduced into another waterway. You can certainly take them, as long as you have a fishing license and cut the heads off. Pennsylvania has no size limit on crayfish and you can harvest up to 50 crayfish per day.
It certainly is. The rules regarding crayfish have been changing and evolving over just the last few years so what is allowed now may be regulated or even banned in the future. The ban here in Pennsylvania is only a few months old and other states have already had bans in place and may be changing their own restrictions in the future. Unfortunately, we as aquarists may feel the brunt of these changes.
My daughter lives in Bucks County and would love to have a crawfish boil in Ottsville. She was just informed that she can not have Fed Ex deliver live crawfish any longer. It this craziness correct? Can you get a permit perhaps for that crawfish boil party weekend.
Yes, those little freshwater crustaceans can indeed live in your pond - as long as you provide the living conditions they need to thrive. Here's what you need to know about growing a hardy crayfish population.
Also known as crawdads and crawfish, North American crayfish belong to the family Cambaridae. More than 300 species live in rivers, brooks, ponds and even special "crayfish farms" across the country. Most types prefer fresh flowing water that doesn't freeze in the winter, but some thrive in swamps and ditches.
During the day, crayfish hunker down underneath rocks to hide from predators like fish, birds and alligators. But at night, they slowly cruise the river bottom in search of food. Their preferred meals are anything decaying, including dead insects, worms, algae and fish, but they'll also snap up small, live fish that are swimming by if they're feeling too lazy to forage. They'll also get their greens by gobbling through algae and aquatic plants.
These decapod crustaceans can grow up to 6 inches in length. They're related to lobsters, crabs and shrimps, and they're prized cuisine among foodies (etouffees anyone?) and larger fish, like bass and bluegill. Crayfish and dwarf crayfish are also kept as colorful pets in aquariums.
Crayfish can make a fun addition to your pond. They nibble on aquatic plants, so they help control weed growth. They eat decaying material, so they - along with Airmax MuckAway - will help keep pond muck to a minimum. They'll entertain your kids (and their friends) for hours as they turn over rocks and hunt for crayfish. And they make for some delicious eating for you and your resident fish!
Create a comfortable environment for crayfish by providing clean, aerated water and some rocks for burrowing. They'll find their own food - or become food if they venture too close to your Fish Attractor Spheres!
Priced per lb. We sort our crayfish in three sizes, Small, Medium, and Large. Although our Minnesota crayfish generally has good size claws, the tails are a bit smaller than some other species. So if you have not had our Minnesota crayfish before, we suggest getting the large size. The smaller sizes will provide the same great flavor, you just have to work a little harder to get the meat out :) We recommend ordering 1-2 lbs of crayfish for every dinner guest, depending on if you plan to serve other foods or not. 041b061a72
